Weather Update: 2010 NLS

2010 National Legislative Summit Rescheduled for March 10-12

Due to the historic snowfall in Washington, D.C., the overwhelming majority of our National Legislative Summit registrants were unable to arrive and participate in the NLS.  In addition, it is widely expected that major components of the federal government, including Congress, will be closed for part, if not all, of this week.

For this reason, we have decided that the best choice is to reschedule the NLS to the nearest available window for effective advocacy with Congress.

We are working with the hotel and the state delegations to reschedule, and it appears that March 10-12 may be the most practical time.  With the American Graduation Initiative and other major federal initiatives pending, it is vital to have community college advocates on Capitol Hill supporting our priorities.

We will continue to honor all canceled registrations for the rescheduled date (TBA later this week).

Canceled registrations may also be credited toward the 2010 ACCT Congress in Toronto, Canada this October 20-23.

All NLS registrants should contact the Marriott Wardman Park hotel and Experient to cancel their respective hotel and event registrations.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

1. E-mail acct@experient-inc.com  and request a change to your National Legislative Summit registration status.  Experient will need your cancelation request in writing.  If you have questions, please call Call (301) 694-5243 Monday - Friday.  (Note: Experient's office is closed Saturday and Sunday due to the record winter storm.  Experient plans to be open on Monday, Feb. 8.)

2. Call the Marriott Wardman Park hotel at (800) 228-9290 and request a change to your hotel room reservation, noting inclement weather as your reason for needing to make this change.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that you notify both NLS event registration and the hotel of your inability to attend.  If you have questions, call (202) 775-4667.
