FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 25, 2010
WASHINGTON, D.C.-The Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) is pleased to announce the recipients of its annual Association Awards for outstanding contributions to community colleges and their students.
ACCT's Association Awards recognize the tremendous efforts made by trustees, equity programs, chief executive officers, faculty members, and professional board staff members. Those recognized at the national level received regional-level recognition in their respective categories earlier in the year. The regional-level awardees were the sole contenders for the national-level ACCT Association Awards in their respective categories. The ACCT Association Awards were announced during the ACCT Awards Gala on Friday, October 22 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel in Toronto, Canada.
"The ACCT Association Awards are among the most prestigious awards any community college, its trustees, presidents, faculty, or staff member can receive," said ACCT Chair and Midlands Technical College (S.C.) Trustee Peter E. Sercer, Sr. "It is ACCT's privilege to shine the spotlight on these outstanding leaders."
"2010 has been a remarkable year for community college leadership," said ACCT President and CEO J. Noah Brown. "The individuals and colleges recognized by these awards have made extraordinary contributions to their colleges and American higher education overall. ACCT is proud to be able to recognize these outstanding individuals through our annual awards program."
