In recognition of the tremendous contribution made by trustees, chief executives and faculty members to community colleges, the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) annually recognizes one exemplary trustee, chief executive, faculty member, professional board staff, and institutional equity in each of its five regions.

Recipients will be announced at the 2010 ACCT Community College Leadership Congress in Toronto, Canada, October 20-23, 2010


One Recipient from Each of Five Regions
-  Trustee (Trustee Leadership Award)
-  Board/CEO Team (Equity Award)
-  Chief Executive (Chief Executive Officer Award)
-  Faculty Member (Faculty Member Award)
-  Professional Board Staff Member (Professional Board Staff Member Award)


Eligible Regions
-  Pacific
-  Western
-  Central
-  Northeast
-  Southern


ACCT's Annual Association Awards recognizes the tremendous contributions made by trustees, chief executives, faculty members, professional board staff, and equity programs and are selected from the recipients of the Regional Awards.

Additionally, ACCT honors individuals who strive to promote community colleges in the public sector with a National Education Service Award and a Government Relations Award. These awards are given out during ACCT's National Legislative Summit.



HOW TO APPLY


In order to be considered for an Association Award, you must submit a nomination at the Regional level.

STEP ONE:

Categories

The nomination of Regional Awards ACCT is opening nominations for the following Regional Awards:

    * Trustee Leadership
    * Chief Executive
    * Faculty Member
    * Professional Board Staff Member
    * Equity (Board/CEO Team)

STEP TWO:

Selection and Notification of Regional Award Recipients

The Regional Awards committees will select the Regional Awards recipients. Recipients of Regional Awards will be notified prior to the 2009 Community College Leadership Congress in San Francisco.    

STEP THREE:

Nomination for Association Award

All nominees for the Association Awards Regional Award are automatically nominated
for the appropriate (non-regional) Association Award.  No separate nomination process is
necessary.  Regional Award recipients will be the sole nominees for the following Association Awards:

    * M. Dale Ensign Trustee
    * Marie Y. Martin CEO
    * Charles Kennedy Equity
    * William H. Meardy Faculty Member
    * Professional Board Staff Member

STEP FOUR:

Selection of Association Awards Recipients

The Association Awards Committee and the Charles Kennedy Equity Award Committee
will select the Association Awards recipients. Association Awards recipients will be announced for the first time during ACCT’s Leadership Congress in San Francisco, California, October 7-10, 2009.

STEP FIVE:

Presentation of Regional Awards

ACCT’s Regional Awards recipients will be honored during the Community College
Leadership Congress in San Francisco, California, during a General Session on either
Thursday, October 8 or Friday, October 9, 2009.

 STEP SIX:

Presentation of Association Awards

Annual Association Award recipients will be honored during ACCT’s Awards gala banquet
at the ACCT Leadership Congress in San Francisco on Friday, October 9, 2009.

Note: Previous Regional Award recipients who were not a recipient at the Association level may reapply at any time. In order to be considered for an Association Award, previous Regional Award recipients must submit a nomination at the regional level. Previous recipients of National Association Awards are not eligible to participate in this program.

2009 ACCT Awards

Congratulations to the National-level 2009 Annual Association Awardees and 2009 Regional ACCT Awardees.  All awards were presented at the 40th Annual Community College Leadership Congress at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square in San Francisco, California, October 8-10, 2009.
