Brian Ford

Brian FordChief Operating Officer

An experienced accounting, auditing, and financial management professional with more than 20 years experience in higher education, non-profit and state and local government arenas.

Ford joined ACCT in November 2007 in the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his role as COO, Ford is responsible for ACCT’s day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ford assists Noah Brown in formulating company policy and directly oversees the development, design, operation, and improvement of the various systems that create and deliver ACCT’s products and services. Functional oversight areas include Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Marketing and Publications, Governmental Relations and internal business operations.

Prior to joining ACCT, Ford worked as Controller, responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial oversight, at American Council on Education, Trinity University and the University of Maryland University College.

Ford’s higher education experience also includes being an Audit Manager with the University System of Maryland from 1998 - 2001 were he conducted a broad spectrum of audits including financial, compliance, performance and fraud related type audits.

Ford graduated from Loyola College in Maryland in 1982 with a major in Accounting. He holds an MBA from UMUC in 2001 and has also assisted in teaching in the UMUC MBA program and was a past president of the UMUC MBA alumni chapter.
