Welcome Letter

You’re invited to New York City and the 2008 Community College Leadership Congress!

We are pleased to invite you to New York City and the 2008 Community College
Leadership Congress. We have an exciting and informative program planned.

From its earliest days, New York City has attracted people from all over the world
who seek freedom and the opportunity to share in the American Dream. This
autumn, trustees will have the opportunity to recommit themselves and celebrate the
role of community colleges and the power of education to lift individuals from
poverty to the promise of greater prosperity.

As trustees, you are the stewards of the nation’s most innovative and responsive
sector of higher education. Your leadership and direction help to assure that the
historical commitment to affordability, accessibility and accountability is firmly
cemented throughout college programs and services. The 2008 Congress affords
you the opportunity to share best practices, successful strategies, and learn about
policy and trends that affect your ability to lead in the future.

We look forward to seeing you in New York, October 29 - November 1 for the
2008 Community College Leadership Congress. Together we can continue to help
our communities and our nation prosper.
