About the 40th Annual ACCT Leadership Congress
Global interdependence has brought the current financial crisis to every corner of the world. Countries are rapidly reshaping their economic and educational infrastructures, while America confronts the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The times demand courage, insight and decisive action. We must rise to the challenge to “think globally and act locally.”
America’s unique advantage is our extensive national network of community and technical colleges which are committed to providing access and focusing on meeting the educational and workforce needs of communities. Community and technical colleges have never been more relevant. They have been, and will continue to be, at the forefront of providing solutions to our collective challenges emanating from today’s rapidly transformed global economy.
Achieving Success in a Global Economy
Navigating the Educational Landscape During Turbulent Times
To meet our economic challenges, policymakers must invest in the educational infrastructure necessary to support educational and workforce development at the local level. Colleges must identify innovative entrepreneurial ventures and partnerships with local, national and international partners. Boards of trustees need to maintain affordability and accessibility, and strengthen accountability.
ABOUT THE AUDIENCE
ACCT’s Leadership Congress is designed to engage community and technical college governing boards, presidents, and other key stakeholders in thought-provoking dialogue, timely exchange of ideas and policies. We invite you to share best practices, successful strategies, program design, and tools, while engaging in an examination of policies and procedures with peers from around the country and abroad.
