What Trustees need to know about Presidential Contracts and Conducting the Presidential Evaluation
The presidential contract should incorporate the right balance between protecting the interests of the institution and the president. What do boards need to know about presidential contracts? What is an appropriate level of compensation? How can the board effectively carry out all aspects of the contract, including the presidential evaluation? What does a board need to consider when renewing the president’s contract? What are some common mistakes? This academy will answer these and other pressing questions.

Effective Board Governance: Policy Governance, Traditional Models and Adaptations
Boards and presidents interested in exploring the elements of effective board governance, including Policy Governanceā¢, traditional models and other alternatives, will gain greater insight into governance issues that are unique to community colleges through interaction with governance experts. Focus will be on the what, when, why and how of effective governance, including a review of the board’s agenda, board policy manuals, bylaws and operating procedures.

Working in partnership with the CEO to identify new sources of funding and board participation with the foundation Board. This session will cover what trustees need to know about institutional advancement. Registration includes a copy of “Trustees Role in Fund-raising”.

What trustees needs to know about budget development, fiscal management, audit functions & fiscal health. This session is designed to enable trustees to effectively carry out fiduciary responsibility and oversee fiscal policy responsibilities.

This is a must attend session for current chairs or trustees preparing to assume the role of chair of the governing board. Learn about the fundamentals to being an effective chair including running an effective meeting, proven techniques that help bring unity to the board, procedures and operations, Sunshine Law requirements, Robert's Rules and Parliamentary Procedures.
