Public Policy
The Public Policy Committee is charged with reviewing public policy issues and recommending positions to the Board of Directors, and where appropriate, members of the Joint Commission on Federal Relations.
Using information from and knowledge about membership values and needs, the Public Policy Committee shall:
1. Propose positions to the Board of Directors that respond to ongoing federal legislative and policy proposals, trends and issues.
2. Identify and propose needed public policy initiatives.
3. Develop policy positions that provide CC boards of trustees with information and support related to the accomplishment of Ends Policies 3 and 4.
4. Collaborate with AACC through the Joint Commission on Federal Relations.
5. Review the establishment of partnerships related to public policy between ACCT and other national organizations that advance the mission of CCs.
6. Review the program for the Annual National Legislative Summit.
7. Conduct an evaluation of and make recommendations about its own operations and effectiveness.
