Diversity Committee Mission Statement
"To give without remembering and to receive without forgetting, in the community college that is inclusive of all mankind."
We define diversity as an ethical and social imperative that is grounded in ACCT's core values to foster inclusiveness, understanding, acceptance and respect in a multi-cultural society. Diversity enables us to unleash the power and harness the innovation that multiple perspectives and diverse experiences create. ACCT is committed to policies of inclusiveness to encourage engagement, values, uniqueness, celebrate differences and promote respect for all, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, age or economical status.
Our Committment
We are committed to leverage our collective efforts through partnerships and alliances to foster leadership, awareness and communication to enable all of our colleges to commit to an educational environment of inclusiveness.
We are committed to confront prejudicial, discriminatory or racist behaviors and policies.
We are committed to multi-cultural communities and educational opportunities for traditionally underserved and underrepresented groups through access.
We are committed to encourage and promote training, engagement and dialogues to create awareness, commitment and engagement.
We are committed to the value of equipping all community college students with the knowledge, familiarity and experiences necessary to succeed in an increasingly diverse world community.
