Use this page to find out more information about programs, legislation, and advocacy tools you can use to become a more engaged trustee. ACCT compiles factsheets, policy briefs, and toolkits for trustees, all of which can be accessed here. ACCT also sends letters to decision makers regarding pending policies and their effect on community colleges.
ACCT also prepares materials to enable trustees to advocate at the grassroots level for their college. Use the State Advocacy Toolkit and other guides on best lobbying practices. You can also report back to ACCT any actions you take on behalf of your college and other events that happen on the state level.
ACCT’s National Legislative Summit is held in Washington DC every February and gives trustees an opportunity to hear from decision makers, learn successful advocacy strategies, and lobby their federal officials.
