Bucks County Community College, PA

As community college trustee, serving faithfully for 36 years, I am committed to education remaining the great equalizer - enabling every person with a dream to accomplish them. As a highly effective community college advocate, I work hard to ensure that our governance structure provides for student access, support, and success – addressing financial and leadership challenges, enrollment fluctuations, equity, and reimagining the needs of ever-changing student populations.

As a Bucks County Community College (BCCC) Trustee, I served as a board chair (5 terms), chaired three college presidential searches, and currently serve the ACCT Audit & Finance Committee, applying my public accounting, financial & management career skills (including executive leadership with Arthur Andersen, Marriott International, Unisys Corporation). Additionally, I serve several boards, including a PBS Affiliate and St. John’s University Enterprise Risk Management Center – all collectively and uniquely preparing me to serve ACCT.

Organizations only succeed by understanding “why and how” the world changes and apply management and strategy to change faster than the world changes around them. To stay relevant, community colleges must engage in these practices to evolve and meet the changing needs of our communities. Trustees must do more than represent constituencies, we must imagine the future as accurately as possible, assess the risks surrounding them, and provide informed leadership by being dynamic and receptive.
