Statement on October 1, 2017 Shooting in Las Vegas

From September 25 – 28, the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) convened its 48th Annual ACCT Leadership Congress in Las Vegas, Nevada. The association’s board, staff and members join the rest of the country in mourning the devastation visited upon the City of Las Vegas last night.

The 48th Congress was hosted graciously by the College of Southern Nevada and the Nevada System of Higher Education. We are in touch with the system to ascertain the safety of its staff and students. I am able to report that the ACCT staff and association officials are all accounted for.

Events such as the one that took place last night cannot be anticipated. Our thoughts and our deepest sympathies are with the victims’ families and the entire community of Las Vegas.
