ZOOM INFORMATION FOR THE REGIONAL CAUCUSES AND SENATE MEETING

Note: All meetings are at Eastern Daylight Time.

Was my college sent a voting delegate letter?

Yes. ACCT sent a voting delegate letter via email to the institution. If the institution did not receive the emailed notification, please contact ACCT at nominations@acct.org.

How many voting delegate(s) is my college entitled to?

To determine the number of votes your institution is entitled to please identify which headcount enrollment (fall 2019 full and part-time for credit) selection applies:

1- 20,000 = 1 voting delegate

20,001- 40,000 = 2 voting delegates

40,000+ = 3 voting delegates

ACCT will also verify and follow up with the institution, once your voting delegate(s) is registered.

How do I qualify to be a voting delegate?

Fiscal year 2021 ACCT membership dues MUST be received and verified by September 28, 2020.

Only voting members of governing boards may serve as voting delegates (i.e., Chancellor/President, Professional Board Staff, and "trustee emeritus" may not serve as voting delegates.)

The board chair or the board must choose your voting delegate(s) internally prior to registration for the Regional Caucuses and the Senate meeting. ACCT does not weigh in on voting delegate selection.

Voting delegates must register by September 28, 2020 to ensure sufficient time before the elections to receive your voting credentials.

How do I register as a voting delegate?

Register here by the September 28 deadline.

As a voting delegate, how do I vote?

The voting delegate must be present at the time of the election to vote. An online ballot will be sent to you prior to time of the election. Please contact Diane Hsiung at dhsiung@acct.org if you need your ballot again.

What meetings do voting delegates have to register for?

All voting delegates must register for their respective Regional Caucuses. Once registered for the Regional Caucus, voting delegates will automatically be registered for the Senate Meeting.

I am a voting delegate that cannot attend and would like an alternate voting delegate to take my place. How do I switch my voting delegate privileges?

First, confirm with your board or board chair of this update. Then submit your request to ACCT before September 28 to nominations@acct.org

Can I run from floor of the Regional Caucus or Senate Meeting?

The ACCT Bylaws provide for nominations from the floor on all elections. Nominations must be made by a voting delegate from each candidate’s respective institution. The voting delegate making the nomination must make the nomination on behalf of the member board and provide a letter affirming the member board’s support before the nomination by email to nominations@acct.org.

If a candidate is to be nominated from the floor and has notified ACCT 10 days prior to the date of Regional Caucuses, the candidate will be eligible to address voting members at Regional Caucuses along with other nominated candidates. Candidates who notify ACCT fewer than 10 days prior to the date of Regional Caucuses WILL NOT be eligible to address voting members at Regional Caucuses.

Where is the candidate information located?

Candidate biographies can be found in the Fall 2020 Advisor.

Will someone follow up with the voting delegate registration submission?

Yes. The voting delegate will receive a confirmation email while the staff contact will receive a receipt of the confirmation email. Additionally, ACCT staff member will contact you within three business days (not including weekends) of receiving your information.

Please contact ACCT at if you do not receive confirmation within 72 business hours. It is the responsibility of the member institution to ensure that the submitted voting delegate registration is verified.
