2020 ACCT Leadership Congress Reimagined as Virtual Experience
Today, the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) announced that the 2020 ACCT Leadership Congress will be convened online as a virtual event in consideration of members' well being during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Each year, the ACCT Leadership Congress brings together over 1,500 community college trustees, CEOs and other leaders to share knowledge about community college governance best practices, advocacy, and a host of special topics.
This year's event will include a focus on lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as tracks dedicated to addressing the needs of students, partnerships and collaboration, new pathways to student success, resource development and rural colleges. Presenters will include nationally renowned experts and thought leaders, as well as trustees, college CEOs and other institutional leaders.
"The show will go on—it will just look and feel different than ever before," said ACCT President and CEO J. Noah Brown. "This year presents opportunities to reimagine our cornerstone event for a new era."
Abundant Opportunities to Learn, Present & Network
Each day from October 5- 8, the ACCT Leadership Congress will convene 15 concurrent educational expert- and ACCT member-led sessions and a general session keynote address. Presenters will be available during live online presentations to answer your questions.
Online networking events will be held on October 5, 6 and 7, so that participants will have opportunities to connect with peers from throughout the United States and beyond.
The event will also feature the presentation of the ACCT Regional Awards, the ACCT Association Awards, and the Phi Theta Kappa New Century Workforce Scholars Awards.
Reduced Cost--and More Advantages of Going Virtual
We know that every penny counts these days. In consideration of the financial hardships imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we've reduced the ACCT Leadership Congress registration fee from $825 to $349 for ACCT members. We hope that this cost reduction, in addition to travel and lodging savings, will encourage your college to consider registering more trustees so that they can experience and benefit from the ACCT Leadership Congress as a professional development opportunity.
If you are already registered for the ACCT Leadership Congress, we will automatically convert your registration for the online event and issue a refund for the difference in cost.*
All registrants also will have the opportunity to access recordings of all general and concurrent sessions following the live event--so, for the first time ever, you'll be able to watch every single presentation, and to go back later in the year for refreshers.
New Dates for Business Meetings
ACCT Board of Directors, board and other committee meetings and elections are now scheduled to take place between September 22 - October 2. See Congress.ACCT.org for the full schedule.
Pre-Congress Academies, roundtable discussions and college tours will not be convened virtually. Pre-Congress Academy registrations fees will be refunded.
