The Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) today announced the next 20 member college boards that will be receiving complimentary board services. The ACCT Board of Directors committed to give away a total of 75 board retreats, workshops, or trainings over the three-year period of 2022 through 2024.
This afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Eastern, ACCT President and CEO Jee Hang Lee randomly selected the following college names from a drum via a live broadcast.

- Community Colleges of Spokane, Washington
- Danville Area Community College, Illinois
- Harford Community College, Maryland
- Iowa Valley Community College District, Iowa
- Johnson County Community College, Kansas
- Linn-Benton Community College, Oregon
- McLennan Community College, Texas
- Neosho County Community College, Kansas
- North Iowa Area Community College, Iowa
- Northwest College, Wyoming
- Oakton College, Illinois
- Ohlone College, California
- Pierce College, Washington
- Pratt Community College, Kansas
- Rock Valley College, Illinois
- Rockland Community College, New York
- Shawnee Community College, Illinois
- Southeastern Illinois College, Illinois
- Stark State College, Ohio
"Board retreats and workshops are an important way to cultivate and maintain a well-functioning board," said ACCT President and CEO Jee Hang Lee. "They are also an important way for the college board and CEO to ensure their joint priorities are aligned and to maintain harmony among board members and the CEO throughout the year. I am grateful to the ACCT Board of Directors for supporting this giveaway so that more members can benefit from these important services."
“Board development is considered a standard of good governance practice, and facilitated board trainings and retreats can strengthen communication and understanding among board members,” said ACCT Director of Retreats and Evaluation Services Colleen Allen. “This can lead to a stronger, more effective working group. Boards that engage in training and professional development also set a model for the rest of the institution.”
