Dr. McCleery retired after 18 years of service as president of New Mexico Junior College in August 2016. He has over 40 plus years of experience in higher education and has also served in a variety of roles, including Dean of Arts and Sciences, Director of Athletics, and Professor of Physical Education. Dr. McCleery earned his Doctorate in Educational and Supervision from the University of New Mexico, a Masters of Education from Texas Tech University and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Lubbock Christian University.
